Mechanic’s Liens

In general, if you have performed work or provided materials to a project , you have a lien on the property for your services.  The lien allows you to have the property sold at auction and to have proceeds paid to you for your work.

The process is very complicated.  It is imperative that you follow all of Arizona’s lien laws, otherwise your lien may be invalid.  If you have not been paid for your work, you should consult an attorney to determine whether you have the right to lien the property.  There are time-frames in which you must act, so do not wait to enforce your rights even if the owner or prime contractor has made promises to pay.
